Last night I got to write in one of my favorite places with a good friend. And I remembered I love to write. It gets hard, when you’re working as an author to remember why you love to write sometimes, between deadlines and setbacks and heartaches...and I’ve had a lot of those lately, as I wonder if I’ll ever actually reach any of the goals I’ve been tirelessly working towards for years. It’s difficult not to feel like a fraud or give in to the depression clawing away at me every moment but then there are moments - where I write a beautiful sentence or read a page from a book that takes my breath away...and those moments restore me at least a bit. So that I can keep going. I want to keep this post and these words up as a reminder to myself, because life inevitably moves in circles, and while I’m at the very bottom of a cycle I still hope, with every ounce of heart I have, that the journey upwards is beginning soon.
Anyone who knows me in real life knows how much I yell about @lbardugo’s books ♥️📖 last night was the most hectic night at @strandbookstore I’ve ever seen (300 + people?!) and that’s because Leigh’s books and her writing have really resonated with readers. She’s a masterful storyteller and can make you laugh, cry and curse in the passage of just a few pages. I’m already well into #kingofscars and I can tell this book will be no exception. #bookstagram #leighbardugo #KingofScarslaunch
